AirPods listen to many things at once
For the overstimulated
I consider myself an AirPods power user. I have the AirPods Pro (Max?) and use them daily. It’s an amazing product that brings immense value to my life. My only complaint is that I wish the batteries lasted a bit longer, though to be fair they charge much faster than they used to.
Sometimes, I find myself using AirPods while using social media, meaning I need to listen to the audio on a Twitter video or try to decipher the content without audio. Some apps (cough, Twitter, cough) automatically pause background audio, while Instagram let’s you listen to music while scrolling through reels.
This got me thinking: What if there was a way to listen to unique audio on each of your AirPods? This solves the social/background audio problem and allows you to listen to multiple things at a time for other use cases.
This exacerbates the fragmentation of our attention. We’re already watching multiple videos concurrently, so why not do the same thing with interfaces?
To be clear, I don’t think this is necessarily a good idea, but it’d be interesting…
