AirPods yell to change volume

I wanna scream, and shout, and let it all out

AirPods are amazing. They were initially ridiculed online, but then they became a huge business for Apple. Recently it was reported that they generate $14.5 billion in revenue with about 50% margin. Absolutely insane that 1 product in Apple’s portfolio is on par with the GDP of many countries.

Anyway, I use my AirPods a lot. Since launch, they have drastically improved the handoff between devices and syncing to a computer vs. phone. It’s incredible.

When you change the volume on your phone, you can see a little indicator that your AirPods are connected plus text that says “volume”. It’s easy enough to control your volume by clicking the buttons on the left side of an iPhone.

What if instead of the buttons, your voice controlled the volume? You can imagine a world where someone has to yell (or talk) at the volume they want to set. This would be a nightmare, as you would have to create some sort of trigger word to initiate the volume change, otherwise, someone would theoretically need to yell eternally to set a specific volume.

I like to imagine an airplane or subway full of people screaming into their AirPods, but this is never going to get shipped.
