Amazon option to deliver my order first
Gimme dat
I remember feeling the delight of a package coming in the mail as a young child. Now when I get packages I’m more focused on whether or not the cardboard is going to fit into the trash when I have to take it out (realized I haven’t done that for tomorrow, yikes).
Though I may be jaded, the magic of Amazon’s two, one, or even same-day delivery is unparalleled. Being able to smash a button and get toilet paper at your door two hours later is cool but also a bit disturbing.
At times, you want to get your package sooner rather than later. For example, I ordered bubble mailers to ship out my book and had to wait until the very end of the day a few days later until they were finally delivered.
Not a huge deal in the scheme of things but it would’ve been awesome if I could somehow prioritize my delivery. To that end… what if there was an option to cut the line when your order is out for delivery?
This sounds great in theory but in execution, it would wreak havoc on the supply chain. Routes are optimized for efficiency and even a slight disruption can send things off the rails. This would be great for the one recipient but cause a lot of delays.
