Amazon Ring drone strike

For unwanted guests

We got one of the Google cameras for our front door a few years ago. It’s a simple piece of technology, but super helpful when tracking packages and deliveries. My only complaint is that the battery life isn’t very long. We end up pulling it off the mount and charging it semi-regularly, which I know would be resolved if we hard-wired it, but that’s a lot of work.

On a related note, one of my friends who has a more robust security system through ring was showing me how some people recently tried to break into his house. Thankfully, he caught it on his camera and was able to scare them off.

It’s nice that there are some light features to intervene when stuff like this happens, but what if you could be a bit more… extreme? One can imagine deploying drone strikes on an intruder directly from the app.

There are a lot of questions about legality, cost, damage to the underlying property, and a million other things that stand in the way of this ever making it into real life, but there is real demand for higher-level private security.
