Angie's List hire a prisoner
Killer prices
Happy Friday all!
If you've ever owned a home or just needed a task done, you might be familiar with Angi (formerly Angie's List). You can use it to get a house painter or a lawn care professional. It's great except that if you submit a request for quote like 400 people will call you and they won't stop.
I digress. Contractors are expensive, but you know who's not so pricey? Prisoners.
The United States prison system has a history of employing inmates to staff cafeterias, do plumbing jobs, or even run laundry (how else do you think everyone is escaping in laundry baskets?). Thing is, they pay them less than a dollar an hour typically. In this economy that won't cut it.
With this in mind, what if there was an option on Angie's List to employ a prisoner to complete your work? It'd be cheaper and you're sortof giving someone a chance to redeem themselves.
Realistically, it would be cool if there were job aggregators focused on helping prisoners re-enter the workforce, and this is a very poor way of approaching that problem.
Shoutout to Caleb for the idea suggestion.
