Apple Mail extremely specific sent from indicator
A little bit too much transparency
Happy Tuesday everyone.
I remember when the iPhone was first getting its start. Every time someone sent me an email, I was reminded where the message came from: that individual's iPhone. It's a simple addition and an extremely smart marketing play. However, over time this went from somewhat of a status symbol to more of an obnoxious label to remove from messages (I barely see this label at all anymore).
The idea of appending a specific location to this label is interesting... what if rather than just showing what device the message comes from, we clearly show where the message came from with as much specificity as possible.
Sure, this is more a humorous feature than anything, but I do wonder how much this would alter people's behavior if the label was hard to change. Would people do more work at their desks? Would people try to find the wildest sent from-location possible?
Who's to say.
