Bird App Shared Scooter Option

Call it... "Big Bird"

Happy Friday everyone!

I lived in LA in 2018 when the e scooter craze. Bird had just raised a crazy amount of money and people were riding scooters everywhere.

For those who don’t live in big cities, there were new apps where you could ride scooters for a small fee. People were very hyped about this method of transportation but there was little to no planning in terms of creating scalable infrastructure. The result was chaos. People started getting DUIs while on scooters, they threw them off buildings and even set them on fire.

All of this was a single-player game. When I was getting dinner with some friends earlier this week we were waiting for our rideshare and I started thinking… what if we could ride scooters to dinner? Better yet, what if we could all ride the same scooter?

Thus, Big Bird was born.

I’m not an expert in physical product design, but I am morbidly curious about how long a scooter could be before buckling under the weight of multiple people. If any of you know, please let me know..
