Charge one AirPod at a time

I’ve ranted (positively) about AirPods in the past. They are one of my favorite products that I use almost as much as my iPhone. They’re easier to find now too with the updates made to the “Find My” application.

They have one horrible feature: one ear always charges a little slower than the other. I think this has improved in their most recent product iterations, but it’s still annoying.

This got me thinking about the current UX to see if your AirPods are charging. What if there was a limitation where you could only charge one pod at a time?

I can imagine how furious this would make the average user. It’s annoying enough as is when your AirPods die, it’d be doubly annoying to have to ensure both pods are charged evenly. There’s no world in which they would degrade their products like this, but I like to imagine a crappy knockoff AirPod where you have to specify which ear to charge, it’d be a fun gag product at the very least.
