Chase credit card debt leaderboard
For the big spenders
Life can get complicated. However, most things pale in comparison to the complexities of the United States credit system. You get a credit score, and you’re supposed to have debt that you regularly pay off to improve it. Don’t pay it off too fast though or you’ll be penalized. Also, don’t open up too many loans. Ideally, you have a mortgage, because that’s “good debt”, but opening up that loan will likely ding your credit a bit.
What a mess. It’s insane to me how convoluted this entire system is. I just need to pay my mortgage, invest a little, and have some leftover money for Taco Bell and bagels. Is that too much to ask?
I don’t think it is, but I have no idea how I compare to the people around me. Other than Googling statistics, the finances of other people are a complete mystery to me.
What if we opened things up a little bit and had a leaderboard that ranked you in comparison to your peers? You wouldn’t need to show balances as they relate to specific people. Instead, you could view your debt load in a leaderboard that helps you get a temp check on your financial standing.
This would ruin some people, and make other people feel great about how financially responsible they are. Due to the privacy nightmare that this would result in, I don’t see how this gets built. It’d sure be interesting if it did though.
