Chase National Debt Payment Option
Maintaining the financial health of a nation
My credit card bill is high this month, but thankfully it’s not that high. Regardless, managing debt is something I and almost every other American struggle with. On average, Americans carry $5,733 in credit card debt. Wild.
However, this pales in comparison to the almost 32 trillion in debt the U.S. has created. Now, I’m not smart enough to understand the nuances of our nation’s fiscal policies, but I do know creating more debt isn’t sustainable forever.
That being the case, what if we open-sourced the payments of this debt? Instead of putting it all on the country, we could allow individuals the ability to make a contribution to our rapidly accumulating debt. This would be a totally optional upsell to the user.
Other than an immediate riot for all Chase users, I don’t see how this gets widely adopted. However, a few good upstanding citizens might be able to make a small difference.
