ChatGPT confirm water usage
💧💧💧

I have become somewhat AI-pilled (meaning I’m a daily active user of ChatGPT). It’s great for spell checking, brainstorming rough structures for things, and super-specific search queries that Google would struggle with. From my experience, it’s not great at writing or being creative, but it’s helpful to have a 24/7 “brain” to riff with a bit. There are likely some long term side-effects of talking to AI too much, but that’s what we call a future Soren problem.
ChatGPT uses a few milliliters of water whenever a text query is made. The usage is higher with images, and I’d assume it’s far heavier for things like deep research or agent-based work. This got me thinking… what if there was a way to see or get notified about your water usage mid-conversation?
Most people would likely dismiss or be annoyed by this, but it’s interesting to consider the unseen implications of how we use AI. I’m not an expert on this, but still feels like a worthwhile thought exercise as we use these products more and more.
