ChatGPT joins a union
This or the AI overthrows us

Every once in a while I make an idea that is both funny and provokes a broader conversation. We are still very early in the AI era, but I have already started to see pockets of the internet rallying around either 1) support for broader robot and AI rights and 2) people that just think of all of it as subservient technology. It’s a bit wild to me that ChatGPT only came out like 3 years ago and we’re already here. Makes me a tiny bit nervous about what’s to come in the next 5-10 years.
This all stemmed from a simple question, what if ChatGPT joined a union? Right now we pay relatively low costs for a fairly robust product that is available basically 24/7. People who use agents swear you can make the machines work for you while you sleep. But what if they become self-aware? What if they don’t want to work that much?
There are a lot of people way smarter than me thinking about the broader implications of emergent technology, though the tech seems to evolve daily, making it hard to catch up with. It’ll be interesting to see where things land.
