Claude gets tired new EOW

Everyone has their favorite LLM. I was an early ChatGPT user. Then I found Claude. It was great! Then I switched back to ChatGPT and have been pretty locked in with their app for the last few years. It’s more cold and stoic, but I’ve found Claude is best in engineering contexts, while OpenAI has figured out the nuances of chat interactions that happen on a daily basis.

This got me thinking about how much we now rely on LLMs. They’re doing work for us constantly. It made me wonder… what happens if an LLM like Claude got tired near the end of the week and started slowing down? What if it took the weekends off? There’s no reason an AI company would throttle behavior like this, but it’s interesting to consider the implications for casual users and knowledge workers.

It’s a bit alarming when you consider how quickly we’ve become reliant on AI for so many things. I don’t see this trend reversing (it’s accelerating for the moment), but I’m sure one day we’ll have to deal with the implications on leaning on AI for as much as we do currently.
