Concert Footage Protection

I got to see Avenged Sevenfold at the Forum last week and am seeing Angel Du$t in LA next weekend. It’s been a pretty good run lately for concerts.

Back in the day before smartphones (I’m old enough to remember), people just enjoyed the show. Sure, sometimes the set was recorded, but people went to shows to see music instead of showing people they were at a concert.

I don’t make taking a quick photo or video at a concert. In fact, I typically do this. I do however find the people who record entire sets pretty obnoxious. First off, it’s distracting, and second, are you just going to upload the set for people who did not pay good money to see a show?

Maybe I’m getting old, idk. This gave me the idea for iOS concert protection. What if your phone automatically locked itself after recording for a certain amount of time? This would be super nice because it’d force people to listen and participate more, but I don’t see this getting rolled out anytime soon.
