Delta "Baby Ban" option

When you need peace & quiet

Yesterday I took a 6-hour flight from San Francisco to New York. As I arrived at my gate, I was a bit tired (7 am departure time). However, I slowly realized there were a lot of children clustering as we began to board.

One particularly boisterous child screamed for a couple of minutes as we started boarding. Thankfully, most kids piped down as we took flight. After a week of being at a conference talking with people (and thanks to some noise-cancelling headphones) I slept for a large portion of the flight and played the Legend of Zelda for the duration of it.

Then, as we landed, the baby in front of me began to wail and it hit me: what if there was a “baby ban” feature where you could specify a geofence that prohibited babies or young children from seeing you?

This would be unfair to parents, but it could be an enormous revenue stream for airlines. It would also be a legal minefield, so I doubt this idea would… take flight.

Have a friend who would use the baby ban?
