Deltavote to eject

One way to force better behavior

It’s painfully evident when I fly based on the concepts I share. As you’re reading this, I’m driving to LAX (or wading through airport security) to hang out with some family. It’ll be a nice way to close out the summer, which so far has been very, very busy.

Even though I haven’t gotten on the plane yet, I’m cognizant that there are often people who are… disruptive when they get on a plane. It’s strange, the social contract seems to evaporate once you’ve gone through security. People become unburdened, unhinged.

This all gets me thinking about the ability to eject someone while on a flight.

I somewhat seriously think there’s a world where we could introduce a feature where every person on a flight gets one vote about who they want to eject when on a plane. I think if we followed the democratic process, this could be an effective way to enforce some level of civility.

Then again, with public activities, someone typically ruins the experience for everyone, so I can very clearly see a world where someone hijacks the process and forces a person to be ejected. This, plus a million regulations likely prevent this idea from ever becoming real.
