DoorDash accident order recovery

The jaws of life but for your burger

A good friend shared a Twitch stream yesterday where a guy was talking about placing a DoorDash order, only to have his driver get in an accident. He was contacted by DoorDash support, who informed him that they were canceling his order due to the accident. Undeterred, the customer asked if he could get his wings from the crash site since it was so close. DoorDash said no, and he didn’t get his food.

This gave me an idea. Let’s say you’re within a 0.5-mile radius of your driver. God forbid they get in an accident, but if they do, what if you could get directions to the crash site so you can get your food while it’s still hot?

There could be some sort of upsell to provide your driver with a tip, a small gift, or even money to pay for their hospital bills. This is slightly unhinged because the last thing on someone’s mind when they’re in a crash is whether or not they’ll be able to deliver a DoorDash order. However, this would be helpful for the customer and it could be beneficial for the driver if there was some sort of way to show support.
