DoorDash bid on your neighbors leftovers

Cold pizza hits different

My wife and I are caught in the never-ending millennial treadmill of opting in for a new meal prep service, trying it for a few weeks, and then churning to a new service. Right now we’re using something called CookUnity (not sponsored), which is quite delicious, but check back with me in a few weeks once the honeymoon phase wears off.

Still, a meal prep service beats eating out in terms of cost and portion control. When you go out to eat, you end up with a weird smattering of leftovers and it’s never clear how to sequence or bundle what you have into a meal.

This got me thinking… what if there was a feature on DoorDash where you could bid on your neighbor’s leftovers? This would be a big win for waste reduction, but also super gross. My neighbors are chill (read, we don’t interact much), but I’m not sure I’m ready to eat something that’s been in their fridge for 4 days.

If someone can figure out the liability aspects of this business, there might be something to this idea.
