DoorDash emergency toilet paper

Something I’ve noticed when traveling internationally (both in Japan and a few years in Italy) was how good I felt. Part of this was because I wasn’t spending every waking minute thinking about work, but a non-negligible part of me thinks this also had something to do with the nutritional quality of the food compared to the US. The food tastes “cleaner,” even though I have no data to quantify these decisions.

To that end, coming back to the US was a tough transition for more reasons beyond the jet lag… pair that with a buddy’s suggestion, and I had to design an experience on DoorDash where you can order “emergency toilet paper” the idea being that a Dasher can either bring the tp and leave it at the door or they can join you in the bathroom to make sure there is guaranteed handoff (god forbid someone takes it from outside the bathroom).

This is one of those features that feels both like a useful solution to a real problem and a logistics nightmare. I can’t imagine this would end well if it went live, but as a gag feature on April Fools, I could see it being a big hit.
