DoorDash New Year's Kiss upsell
Don't find yourself alone when the clock strikes 12
It’s official. We have less than 24 hours left in 2023. This means a lot of things. For me, it means I’m only 2 ideas away from creating ideas daily for 365 days, which I am very excited about.
Given that I’m still getting over a cold, this will probably be a very tame New Year’s Eve. I might not even stay up until midnight. If I do, it will be because people in my neighborhood love to set off fireworks and my dog hates fireworks with a burning passion. So yeah, his barks will probably usher in 2024 for my wife and I.
New Year’s has the weird tradition of kissing someone when the clock strikes 12. Honestly, I didn’t know this was a thing until I was an adult. Even then, it always seemed strange to me. Why do I want a kiss to be the first thing I do in the new year?
However, I know some people have a deep desire to give someone a little smooch at midnight and I don’t think they should be deprived of that. Initially, I was going to make this concept an upsell in a dating app. Then I realized some people are already on the road late at night: DoorDash drivers (aka Dashers).
What if you could pay extra to get a little kiss from your Dasher? There are a million questions that come up as I think of this feature, but it’s funny to think about someone waiting for their order to arrive in time for the kiss at midnight.
Anyways, Happy New Year. See you in 2024.
