DoorDash option to steal other people's in transit orders
You sure you're gonna eat that?
I don’t use DoorDash (or UberEats) very often. I hold a belief that most foods have a short half-life and by the time something gets delivered it often loses a bit of its initial luster. Also, eating out should be a fun treat, not the norm (this might change if I have kids lol).
Also, sometimes when you’re hungry you want to eat immediately. DoorDash isn’t conducive to this because it takes 45 min to an hour sometimes for your food to get delivered. This is an obvious limitation, but it’s annoying when you’re hungry.
To that end… what if there was a way to intercept food that is already nearby? You could browse orders that are currently in transit and bid to steal them from the person who initially placed the order.
This would be extremely frustrating for the person who placed the order, so the cost associated with this action would need to be very, very high. However, it could present an interesting revenue opportunity if DoorDash was willing to take on the risks involved.
