DoorDash option to bail out driver

In the past year I’ve slowly succumb to the convenience that is DoorDash. It’s just too easy to get food delivered to your doorstep after a long week. I love it.

What I don’t love is when orders get delayed. Thankfully, I have been lucky with drivers 99% of the time, but I’ve had drivers get lost and know friends who’ve had drivers get in accidents, steal food, and more.

But what if your driver got arrested while on the job? What happens to your food? This made me think about what might happen if you needed an option to bail out your driver. Alternatively, you could place a new order from the commissary (though I’m not sure who would make this delivery).

This is an unhinged feature, but it’s likely something DoorDash has had to account for at some point in the life of the company.
