DoorDash walking notices

Know what you're getting yourself into

As I make a concerted effort to get healthier this year, I’ve started walking more. It’s easy for me to reach 6 to 8k steps on weekends, though weekdays are more of a struggle, especially when I’m in back-to-back meetings.

Separate from my activity goals (I’m lifting too, not just walking), I’ve also made a push to drink more water and eat more protein. A natural byproduct of eating protein-rich foods has been eating less junk food. This is sad, as I love junk food, but future Soren will thank me for these choices.

As I was eating a sandwich today, this got me thinking… what if apps like DoorDash notified you not only of the nutritional content but also the amount of activity required to burn off the calories associated with that food?

For some health-conscious people, this could be a great feature. For others, it could be debilitating or exacerbate an already distorted relationship with food.

I don’t see a reason for DoorDash to make this unless they suddenly decide to get into the health and fitness space (which would be surprising, but also interesting).
