Drink water for more screen time

For the chronically online

Water is a big part of what makes us human. Literally, our bodies are like 70% water. You die way faster without food than without water. According to one Google search I just did, 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. That number is insane. I am also definitely one of these people.

When I’m working on something I’m interested in, I get hyper-fixated on it. This is both a superpower and a curse at the same time. Like today, I spent a few hours writing code and realized I hadn’t had any water since waking up. It’s easy for me to get in the zone, and hard for me to get out of it.

To that end… what if we utilized the screen time API to show people that they need to take a break and drink water after a certain amount of time? This would be annoying in some contexts (especially if you could only verify via video), but it would also likely help a lot of people remember to drink more water. Not so much an unhinged idea as a useful one today.
