Duolingo Cocomelon break
Are you not entertained?

Duolingo is the only way I’ve tried to digitally learn a language. It’s effective, though I’m not 100% clear on how deep it goes (I am very good at saying rice, green tea, water, and sushi in Japanese, but not much else). It’s a fun, engaging app, but I haven’t dug in to learn deeply.
I am extremely motivated by the gaming patterns encouraging me to not mess up and keep my streak when I’m active. It’s crazy effective. However, there are times where things are simply too much of a cognitive leap. In those moments, I wonder if we could add a temporary respite. Maybe by upselling users on an episode of Cocomelon.
For those not familiar with the iPad kids who are glued to their screens, Cocomelon is essential viewing material. I have never seen a child more locked in than when they’re watching it. Now, if we showed this to adults, it’d probably be insulting, but still, it’d get some viral engagement.
