Eternal notification ticker

Part of being both an “influencer” and a small business owner means 8,043 people are trying to get ahold of you about something forever. Notifications are like a Hydra, you get rid of one and two more pop up. It’s maddening.

Apple’s UX for managing notifications isn’t bad. You can get an overview of notifications related to a specific app on the home screen and when you swipe down from the top of your phone. However, it’s hard to get a good sense of how many notifications you have across all of your apps simultaneously (I’d guess this is intentional because it would likely be overwhelming for most people).

This got me thinking… what if there was a persistent ticker at the top of your screen where you could see a live notification count and previews of messages from all of your apps? The banner would be red to match the existing styling of notifications on individual apps.

The anxiety and frustration this would cause would be astounding to behold. It was stressful to watch the mockup as I made it. I can’t imagine what it’d do to people’s brains if it lived on their phone 24/7.
