Expiring Text Messages

In a rare change of form, today I’d like to propose an idea that I think has a lot of utility. I’m lucky enough to live extremely close to Target. Like, I could walk there from my house. It’s great, but we end up placing a lot of pickup orders.

Since we placing so many orders, there are often times when my wife or I need something but we miss texts from each other. Then we waste all this time going back and forth to see if there another person is still there.

What if there was a way to set texts to “expire” or automatically unsend after a set period of time? I’m not sure about the technical feasibility of this, but the utility is obvious and ubiquitous.
