F̶i̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ Actively avoid my friends
That's close enough
I’ve been converted. As a long-time critic of the “Find My” app, I’m now super excited about it. I use it all the time to find my… AirPods. Yes, I know I should use it to connect with and keep tabs on friends and loved ones, but the boomer in me thinks that’s weird and creepy.
Maybe I’ll have kids one day and think differently, but for now, you’ll never find me.
Sometimes you want to find people. Other times, you want to stay away from people. This got me thinking… what if there was a better way to more actively avoid people? For example, you could specify a radius and then get alerts if you’re getting too close to someone. Playing the tape forward more, you could integrate with Apple Maps to get away from the person.
In a way, this is just an alternative design for restraining orders. I don’t think Apple would ever launch this (though it has some utility).
