Github surge pricing
Distributing PRs more evenly

Today, we’re getting a bit more technical with the unhinged concepts. If you aren’t an engineer (or if you’ve never used GitHub), it might go over your head, but I’ll try to explain. When you’re contributing to a large code base, you typically have to submit what’s called a “pull request.” Basically, you are making sure that the code you contribute to a part of a large whole doesn’t break the entire system.
I’ve never worked as an engineer, but I’d venture to guess that a lot of PRs happen on Friday because the week is coming to a close. It’s also likely a lot happen at the end of the day or at night. This got me thinking… what if there was surge pricing on GitHub?
This would frustrate a lot of people. Also, PRs don’t cost anything, so it would really make people upset. Github isn’t an expensive platform, so I don’t see how they could ship this without upsetting a lot of people, but it’s a fun idea regardless.
