Gmail "per my last email" button

The best way to boost corporate efficiency

Email is weird. It’s essentially texting with extra steps, fancier words, and ads when you think about it. I’ve made peace with the fact that email is a necessary evil that I’ll be forced to use for the foreseeable future, whether I like it or not.

After being in hundreds, if not thousands of email threads. I’ve done and seen some pretty dumb stuff. Often, people simply don’t read the information the should, which results in someone needing to repeat themselves in a thread. A commonly used phrase in these cases starts with, “per my last email” before listing out the information that was laid out previously.

This got me thinking… what if this prompt surfaced as a button people could tap to pre-populate with the response “per my last email…” followed by the email contents. Alternatively, it could somehow link directly to the email and remove the need to type altogether.

This idea stemmed from a common email refrain that’s become a meme, but part of me thinks this isn’t that bad of an idea.
