Gmail Quick Reactions
Dynamic reactions based on email contents
Happy Tuesday all.
I use both email and Slack for work. Slack started out primarily as an instant messaging tool but has since evolved into something I find easy to get lost in. On the other hand, the linear nature of email is at times more straightforward but suboptimal for quick communication.
With Slack's ability to accommodate both long and short form conversation, they've moved upmarket to act as a more direct competitor to email.
One interesting opportunity for email is to move "down market" to compete with shorter form messaging platforms would be to include a quick reaction pattern. This in and of itself is helpful, but I wonder if based on the contents of the email the reactions available could dynamically update?
There are more questions than answers here, but I do think a way to more quickly clear your inbox is needed.
