Google Calendar bedtime alerts
For those early morning meetings

The agency I manage works with clients across the globe. Most are in the US, but some are in Europe or Asia, meaning we have to work weird hours sometimes (early or late meetings). Waking up early isn’t fun, but it’s the nature of an interconnected world.
I’ve found I’m my own worst enemy when it comes to getting enough sleep. Typically I am disciplined about getting a decent amount of rest, but when you’re 360 turns deep on an intense game of Civilization III (yes, the installment from 2001), it’s hard to pull away. This got me thinking… what if apps like Google Calendar could integrate with Apple Health to programmatically surface bedtime notifications that get progressively more aggressive the later you stay up?
This would honestly be a good product. Sleep enforcement feels like an underserved product area. Yes, we have great products to track sleep and wake up, but getting people to sleep continues to be a thorny problem, both due to human resistance and the struggle to fall asleep.
I’m not sure how many people would opt in to aggressive notifications like this, but it could be helpful if properly designed.
