Google Maps oil change

I’m not proud to admit that I’ve let my car go… thousands of miles over the due date for a change. Thankfully, I’m an adult now, so I change my oil regularly. Don’t worry Mom and Dad.

Some people in my life, who will remain nameless, are less prone to change their oil on time. This concept is for them.

What if when you were using Google Maps, it limited where you could drive if you were overdue for certain maintenance (like an oil change)? Even better, these required stops could be sponsored by Jiffy Lube, etc. I’d be curious to see how many people immediately change their oil versus people who fight the system and try to figure out how to manually navigate.

I’d venture to guess most people would just change their oil, but some people might try to power through and get good at wayfinding without the app. Let’s be real, they’d probably just download a different map application.

There’s no way this gets built, but a pop up oil change reminder could be helpful…
