Google Meet auto-reschedule
The automation we deserve

A large part of “work” boils down to getting the right people in the room to talk about stuff, which is surprisingly hard when you are working with certain types of people. It’s common to deal with last-minute requests to reschedule meetings, especially when you have people with busy calendars on the invite list.
I’m not sure exactly what sparked the idea, but this weekend I wondered what might happen if there were a Google Meet automation that automatically requests to reschedule a meeting inconveniently close to the event for as long as the user desires (in this case, indefinitely).
This is one of my more subtle, yet diabolical features. The sheer amount of time wasted with a simple level of automation is crazy. You might think, “Soren, this is possible with Zapier.” but there’s something particularly sinister about simplifying the UX of this to appeal more broadly to Google Meet users.
I see no world (thankfully) where this gets built, but if it did, boy would heads roll.
