Google Meet live presentation feedback
Engineering more anxiety into those important moments

We've all been in those long, drawn out meetings that don't seem to have a clear point or an end in sight. It's one of the universal corporate struggles of our time. I've been a participant as both an attendee and facilitator of a few of my own to be fair.
I vividly remember one of my pieces of feedback during my promo process at Square. The note was that while the content of work I typically presented, at times my delivery felt a bit dry or monotone. If you know me at all, there is very little difference in my town when I genuinely say, "Wow, I'm so excited!" and "I'm really tired." It's a blessing in that I seem cool, calm, and collected, but it's also a curse because I probably sound boring.
Oh well.
This did get me thinking however... what if there was a way to provide real time feedback to presenters in Google Meet? You could notify them if people start to disengage when you spend a little too much time on a topic. Or you could help people shift their tone or even physical posture to better fit the behavioral norms of whatever context someone might be in.
There's something to be said for meeting coaching and etiquette, but this likely isn't the solution.
