Google Meet recap conversation leaderboard

See who's speaking up

Google Meet has changed a lot since I started satirizing it. They’ve added a bunch of fun filters, it’s easier to manage a queue of questions, and they have other new features for larger teams.

Human behavior, unlike technology, is slow to change. People still show up late, go over the set meeting time, and can at times hog the conversation. I’ve been guilty at times of rattling on for too long, but I usually know when it’s time to cut myself off.

Others lack either the self-awareness or self-control to know when to stop talking. This got me thinking… what if Google Meet quantified this for you? You could imagine a feature that shows how much time participants spent talking and rank them in a leaderboard.

I don’t know if this is a good or bad idea, but showing people how much time they spend yapping could help make meetings shorter.
