Google Meet Screen Sharing Confirmation
The age old question

2020 was the year everyone became familiar with remote work, whether they liked it or not. I’ve been working remotely since 2018 and am a huge proponent of it. I’m far more productive locked in by myself than when coworkers surround me. However, I understand the need for in-person communication to remove loss of information when communicating with a team. Hybrid makes sense.
That said, I’m familiar with the tropes used in remote work settings – “next slide please”, “can everyone see my screen?”, etc. It’s astounding to me that 5 years later we still haven’t found a good way to automatically confirm that people can see someone’s screen.
This got me thinking. What if apps like Google Meet told you in a more aggressive manner that your screen is visible? There could be a full screen takeover/modal to make it abundantly clear.
This is an instance where humans, not tech, seem to be the bottleneck. So I think that even if this existed, people would still try to ask.
