Google Meet sit up straight
Or your camera will be off

I spend the majority of my workday sitting in an office. There’s a high likelihood this will be the norm for the vast majority of my career (depressing, but realistic). This means that I have to be intentional when not working to stay active and try to work on my posture, but I’m very bad at that second thing.
This got me thinking about applications I regularly use, like Google Meet. They’re already monitoring my camera activity, so why not put it to good use? I can imagine an upgrade to the app where my camera and or mic is turned off if I don’t have good enough posture.
The technology to do this already exists, and I believe that, as an opt-in experience, it could be really helpful for people trying to improve their posture. It could even be implemented in other apps like Google Docs. However, it’s very annoying if unwanted, so I don’t imagine this being a default setting anytime soon.
