Hinge see who they're messaging
And create a group chat of course
A difficult unspoken assumption one must make on dating apps: you are one person in a sea of potential love interests. It’s strange to think that you might be one of the dozens of people someone speaks with on dating apps before they decide to take a chance on actually going out with you. Thankfully, my dating years ended almost 8 years ago. It feels like I dodged a very messy era overall.
Some of my readers are also lucky in this regard. Others, not so much… This got me thinking about apps like Hinge and how you are forced to wait and wait until a potential match messages you back, knowing full well they are likely talking to the competition (or living their life, but that’s too rational of a conclusion). What if you didn’t have to wait?
Instead, you could see a live preview of who they are currently messaging, with a button allowing you to create a group chat with you, your match, and the match they’re currently speaking to.
This would cause an insane amount of interpersonal strife and also be extremely entertaining to watch. I can’t imagine the interactions and online spats that would break out between people vying for a date’s affection.
It would truly be a sight to behold, but I guarantee no dating app is crazy enough to build this.
