iMessage Apple Health sickness verification

You feel fine, don't you?

Being sick is the worst. That is, if you are so sick you have to lie in bed and focus solely on feeling better. There is however this elusive sweet spot where you feel just sick enough that you shouldn’t be working but also you’re healthy enough to watch TV or play video games. It’s like a sad mini-vacation.

It’s been so long since I’ve worked in an office that the idea of “playing sick” feels like a foreign concept to me. I’m used to taking off a little early if I don’t feel great, but WFM probably nets out to me working more than I would if I had to go into an office every day.

Then some people fake being sick to get out of social gatherings. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled this, but I know people do. Whether it’s because of previous commitments, not feeling emotionally up to hang with people, or simply because you don’t like someone, it’s not uncommon to make up a reason to avoid hanging out with people. However, due to developments in modern technology, there should be a way to “verify” whether or not someone is under the weather or not.

For example, iMessage could integrate with Apple Health and surface when someone isn’t sick even though they claim they are. This would cause much more harm than good, but I could see this being repurposed as a way to protect seniors who might be at risk of disease. In this case, though, it’s Kaylee being rude.
