iMessage unquittable group chats

Everything tends towards chaos. Tactically for me, this means I keep getting added to more and more group chats. It’s overwhelming, but at this point, I’m here for it. As a strict proponent of inbox zero it’s a fun challenge making sure all of my messages get read (even though I might not respond to everything).

This got me thinking about the group chats that randomly pop off and you return to 100 text messages. This is annoying, but avoidable if you simply hide alerts or in drastic cases, leave the group entirely.

What if it wasn’t so simple?

I imagine a situation where a group chat creator can disable the feature to leave group chats or hide alerts. This would wreak havoc on some people’s notifications. It’s a spammer’s delight. I really, really hope Apple never makes this or I will be in for a world of hurt.
