Instagram moderator logoff request
Time's up

A few years ago Apple rolled out the ability to set restrictions on your screen time. This is helpful, but easy to circumvent (you just disable the restriction). Once I realized this, it was easy to get around. I ended up using an app called Clearspace to restrict my Twitter usage, which has been extremely helpful. Big recommend to anyone out there who is terminally online.
Another potential incentive to log off is the strain it puts on moderators. Yes, more of this work is offloaded to AI, but human intervention is still required and is very traumatizing for the people who navigate the darker corners of social media. This got me thinking… what if there was a way for moderators to ask you for a break?
This would be a bit of a gut punch for those who are always online, but it’d probably be a net positive for society. However, it’s not in the best interest of Instagram, so I don’t see them using it any time soon.
