Instagram stories cease and desist

We all have that friend.

They love to share their life with everyone who follows them on social media. This can take many forms, but nowadays, it typically manifests itself as someone who posts on their Instagram story incessantly. I can forgive holidays like the 4th of July, but when people go ham regularly, it can get annoying.

This got me thinking… what if there was a way to combat this behavior? I can imagine a dialog that is programmatically surfaced once a user hits a certain number of stories. This dialog would allow you to send a cease and desist letter to a, user begging them to stop posting so many stories.

Instagram has no reason to implement this as it would disincentivize users from engaging with the platform. That said, I can imagine a world where this is incredibly helpful to people who are fed up with those who post a little too frequently.
