iOS charging indicator

I’m not the best at charging my phone. Also, between phone calls, texting, Figma prototypes, and more, my phone often reaches its battery life's end before my day ends. Thankfully phones now charge fast with lightning cables, but it’s annoying. My phone still dies from time to time.

This got me thinking about the black screen with the battery indicator you see when your phone is dead. What if Apple was more clear about if your phone is charging or not?

This idea feels obvious, but this screen has gone largely unchanged since the earliest permutations of the iPhone. Maybe it’s a hardware constraint, or maybe they simply don’t care, but I do wish this existed. I’m sure I’m not alone in this either.
