iOS complete the word game to snooze

As a kid, I remember my dad and sister loving word games. They’d regularly do crossword puzzles, word puzzles in those books they sell, and sudoku. I never liked word games that much, but Sudoku was surprisingly fun for me given my overall aversion to math (but that’s a different story for a different day).

The last couple of days, I’ve been catching up on sleep, which has been very needed before a week of being socially always on for Config. This got me thinking about all the alarms I’ll need to set this week to meet both work and social obligations. Waking up is hard sometimes, and it’s too easy to snooze.

What if we made it harder by gating the snooze button behind a gnarly word puzzle? The puzzle itself isn’t unreasonably difficult, but if you’re waking up and there’s an alarm blaring, it’d likely force you to wake up pretty quickly.

This is half unhinged and half useful. For deep sleepers and chronic snoozers, I could see this being a useful (albeit annoying) tool.
