iOS Least Favorites

Know who your friends aren't

I am continuing to pull on the thread of unsolicited phone calls and text messages as we ramp up to what I anticipate to be a very stressful week. I’m cautiously optimistic that the political spam will start to die down as we pass Tuesday, but no one can say for sure. I also get annoying messages from lenders, banks, insurance providers, people who want to work for me (this one has been weird), and more.

As I poked around my phone for areas I haven’t deeply explored, I realized I’ve never used the Favorites feature in the iPhone app. It seems duplicative when I had the people I talk with most pinned to the top of my iMessage threads and my recent calls typically include the people I want to talk with.

What if there was a more robust interface for people you don’t want to talk to? With the rise of Apple Intelligence (from what I’ve heard, it’s not that smart… yet) you can imagine a “least favorites” feature where you can offload annoying conversations to an AI agent. This is one of those features that is poorly positioned but could be quite useful if it was messaged the right way to consumers.
