iOS passive aggressive password manager
The security assistant you deserve
Life is busy. It's hard to juggle our responsibilities between family, friends, work, and trying to have hobbies. The fact that we live a large portion of our lives online only adds to this complexity. You have to remember your physical and digital identity.
One particularly obnoxious part of our online lives is identity and password management. For a long time, I just used a couple of super long passwords and prayed nothing bad would happen, then my Twitter got hacked.
This gets me thinking about the nudges that exist on an OS level when confusing your password. For example, when creating a new account on most apps, Apple now gives you the option to obfuscate your email. This is a cool feature for privacy-focused users, but it stinks for anyone trying to run a business.
What might it look like if the OS took a step further and more overtly critiqued your password? For example, it could comment if the password feels too simple of generic. On the one hand, this might bolster security quality on many accounts, but it would also frustrate and insult many along the way.
I’m not sure an operating system should have a personality, but if it did, that would be quite funny.
