iOS remove your contact info

... from someone else's phone

We all have that friend who’s… a little too eager to hang out. They mean well, but it’s just too much too often. It might be because they love spending time with you or have more free time than you. Either way, it can be a lot trying to field invites and texts when you’re caught in a busy daily routine.

This got me thinking about Apple Contacts. What if there was a way to remove your contact information from someone else’s phone? Yes, this feels a bit heavy-handed, but at the same time, it’s a digital way to break the emergency glass and break free from constant texts you might want to ignore.

One might argue the alternative to this would be simply blocking someone, but actively blocking feels aggressive. If you just remove your number, someone won’t be able to find your info, but they won’t know you blocked them (maybe you can blame phones for losing your #).

Alternatively, one could simply set healthy boundaries, but that’d be too easy, wouldn’t it?
