iOS Slowly Get Louder
Wakey wakey

This weekend I experienced the bliss of sleeping in two days in a row. It was wonderful. Will I experience two consecutive days of sleeping in again before this year ends? Probably not. Oh well, such is life.
I enjoyed being able to kick back and relax with family this weekend, but now we’re back to another week of the grind. To be fair, I’m at a design conference in North Carolina right now where there’s an emphasis placed on “unplugging”, but the reality is I’m not currently in a situation where it’s reasonable for me to take a step back. One day, maybe, but today is not that day.
Last night was a late night catching up after a few days of taking it easy. This got me thinking about the inevitable need to set an alarm to make sure I wake up at a not insane time. To that end, I wonder how we incentivize people to get up in the morning. What if there was a feature where the alarm on iPhones got progressively louder over time? This would be a nightmare for me when I have late nights, but it would also be incredibly motivating in terms of getting me to wake up on time.
If this did get built, the volume cap would definitely be lower than 150dB, but I doubt this would get created for a variety of reasons.
