iOS update apps 1 by 1 until you upgrade
"I'd like to play a game"

One of the least fun aspects of owning an iPhone is the constant need to update both apps and the operating system. Apple works incredibly hard to make great software, but sometimes I wish they’d leave certain apps (like Photos) alone. It’s been designed, it’s fine.
However, we all have to upgrade to the new OS eventually if we want to use certain apps or features, or because our phones get too old and just stop working.
This got me thinking… I know Apple has some mechanisms to incentivize people to upgrade, but what if they were a bit more… forceful? You can imagine a workflow where apps slowly shut down/get deactivated one by one until you finally just flip the switch and update.
People would hate this. I know how much resistance upgrading is met with by myself and some of my family members, however it would solve Apple’s problem of not having everyone on the most recent OS. I don’t see this getting shipped, but there’s got to be some way to “encourage” more people to get with the times.
